Separation Anxiety Dog Trainer by Zoom

Khris Erickson, CPDT, CSAP-BC

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) with over two decades of experience, I've had the privilege of working alongside numerous dogs and their owners, guiding them through manners training, behavior counseling, and addressing separation anxiety.

My commitment to professional growth is evident in my continuous pursuit of knowledge through seminars and webinars, ensuring that I stay abreast of the latest methods and techniques in dog training. I firmly believe in the efficacy of humane and positive reinforcement, principles that guide my own training practices.

I am passionate about helping people and their dogs live together in harmony. I am firm in my belief that well-trained dogs are happier, and I take pleasure in equipping individuals with the skills to cultivate well-behaved family members in their dogs.

During my 17 years of employment at the Humane Animal Welfare Society in Waukesha, WI, I worked with shelter dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Working with shelter dogs provided me with the opportunity to gain a lot of experience using positive reinforcement and humane training methods, and develop a deep understanding of dog behavior.

After leaving HAWS I obtained my SA Pro Behavior Consultant certification. This immersive course on resolving separation anxiety in dogs allowed me to learn not only best methodology to resolve the issue, but the science behind it.

My expertise allows me to provide the best treatment plan to help my clients resolve separation anxiety in their dogs.

I am located between Waukesha and Madison, Wisconsin, but because I work virtually I can help you no matter where you are in the US., providing individual training sessions and behavior consultations, with a specialization in separation anxiety.

For those within a 30-minute drive of Ixonia, WI, in-person services are also available.

I know how frustrating and helpless it can feel when your dog’s behavior makes your life difficult. I am passionate about using my dog training and behavior knowledge to help you improve your life, as well as improve the well-being of your dog.

Jenna S.

I worked with Khris on my dog's separation anxiety. She was very knowledgeable, thorough, professional, and kind. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a qualified separation anxiety trainer. We worked remotely, and she is very knowledgeable on the various technologies and processes to help you with your video and transmission needs. She was super organized and on time. I really felt like she cared deeply about my dog and I making progress. My dog has other behavior challenges, and she provided helpful tips with those as well.

Leslie M.

We worked with Khris over the last 8 months for our puppy's separation anxiety. He couldn't be left allow for more than a minute when we first started and now, with Khris's training, he is comfortable being alone for 5-6 hours. Khris is very knowledgeable and was able to help us adapt the training to our various circumstances. She responded quickly to any questions/situations we had.

Behaviors can't be changed overnight, so the training can be slow going at first. Don't let it discourage you because any little bit of progress is a win. It has taken time and work but we are so grateful to Khris for the results.

Overall it has been a huge relief to have some of my freedom back, and know that he's not annoying my neighbors while I'm gone!

Khris has helped us train several dogs over the last 10+ years with great results. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and most importantly the dogs love her. Highly recommended!

Cassie G.

Khris worked with our dog Mabel when she was around 6 months old to help her overcome her nerves and anxiety. Mabel quickly trusted Khris and flourished under her training. Khris taught both Mabel and, maybe more importantly, me, life altering skills for helping our girl thrive in the big scary world. I would absolutely recommend Khris to anyone that is looking for a qualified, educated and caring dog trainer that uses only positive reinforcement.

Kelcy B.

Khris was extremely pleasant to work with, and her training methods were very effective for us and our puppy. She sets clear expectations and is realistic about the training process. She is gentle and kind with dogs, and I highly recommend her and her services.
