What dog training methods do you use?
I am a force-free trainer who uses positive training methods. While food is a huge part of the training process, I also like to reinforce with anything motivating to the dog such as play, toys, and dog/owner interactions. Sometimes the motivator is unusual – I once trained a dog that loved feathers!
I will work with you to discover what your dog loves!
Why In-Person Training Works
In-person training works because it’s designed around you and your dog, right in the environment where challenges actually happen. Instead of practicing in a busy group class where distractions are high and every dog has different needs, we can focus directly on your goals and your dog’s learning style. This one-on-one support means faster progress, fewer setbacks, and real results that carry over into daily life.
What to Expect During a Visit
-
Reviewing Your Intake Form
We’ll start by going over behaviors you marked on the intake form so I understand your main concerns and priorities.
-
Discussing Your Goals
I’ll ask about how you plan to use the behaviors we’re working on, making sure training fits your real-life needs.
-
Using Treats
Training will include treats for motivation and reward. You’re welcome to provide your own if you prefer.
-
Hands-On Learning
I’ll demonstrate the training steps and then coach you through the process, so you feel confident practicing at home.
